FAQ

  • Are you state licensed?
    Yes, state license number is FTA432034.
  • What are your hours of operation?
    Monday through Friday 8:00a.m. to 5:45p.m., Saturday 8:00a.m. to 2:00p.m. Early and late care may be accommodated for an additional fee.
  • What are your weekly rates?
    Full time $200.00 per week. 3 day part time $135.00. 2 day part time $110.00 per week. Drop-in care $60 per day.
  • What ages do you accept?
    MELFC is licensed for birth to twelve years of age. MELFC accepts only birth to three and a half years of age.
  • Do you accept part time or drop-in (one day) care?
    Yes! Part time and drop-in care is available and based upon availability.
  • What do you provide for my child in your care?
    Full time and part time enrollments are provided meals, eating/drinking utensils, reusable baby wipes and bedding.
  • What do I need to provide for my child?
    Full time and part time enrollments must provide: Child’s annual physical and immunization records or State Religious Exemption form Change of clothes Diapers Diaper cream/salve Nose Frida (2) reusable wetbags Any special provisions (i.e. almond milk, disposable wipes, etc.)
  • Do you have any pets in your home or smokers?
    There are no pets in our home and no smokers. No smoking is permitted on our property.
  • What forms of payment do you accept?
    We accept cash in person or Cashapp. All payments must be paid at time of initial service.
  • How many children are in your care daily?
    Monday through Friday we normally have a total of six children present under the age of three and a half years of age. On school holidays our ratio sometimes goes up to ten children under the age of twelve years of age.
  • How do you handle discipline or behavioral problems?
    Positive methods of discipline will be enforced before any time out is given. The children will be given plenty of redirection opportunities. For example: guiding the child’s attention from the unacceptable activity to a constructive more acceptable action, talking to the child about the feelings he/she is having, suggesting to the child other solutions to the problem they are having, and removing the child from the source of the conflict.
  • What is a typical daily schedule?
    Our daily schedule varies each day. Here at MELFC we believe in allowing the children to lead the way in what they would like to do. Therefore, many activities may get switched around or omitted from our daily schedule for the day. We make sure to follow each day the same mealtimes and nap time.
  • What holidays or vacations are MELFC closed?
    MELFC recognizes all major U.S. holidays. The provider also takes a total of ten paid vacation days, seven paid sick/education days and Hillsborough County Schools Christmas Break week.
  • What types of meals provided?
    MELFC is a participant of the Lutherans Services Florida USDA Food Program. We adhere to rules and regulations provided by the USDA. All children receive a well-balanced, wholesome meals at MELFC. Here’s an example of a meal for the day: Breakfast: whole grain waffle, banana and milk Lunch: Turkey ground meat with tomato sauce, whole grain spaghetti, green beans, strawberries and milk Pm Snack: goldfish, cheddar cheese cubes and water Dinner: Shredded beef, brown rice, black beans, orange slices and milk
  • Do you have any special needs experience?
    Yes! I have over fifteen years of experience working with children with Down Syndrome, Autism, Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
